State: Louisville, Kentucky Hospital: Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists metrovetlouisville.comAddress: 11800 Capital Way Cost: $3900 Date of surgery: October 3rd, 2017 What was included in cost (MRI?, days stay, ER? PT? meds for home, sling, etc.): Included CT scan, cervical disc surgery (C2-C5), stayed 1 night/about 36 hours, medication (Tramadol, Trazadone, and Methocarbamol), and a 2 week follow-up appointment with the surgeon. Comments: We were very happy with our experience. Our surgeon was Dr. Applewhite. He calmed our fears before the surgery and overall did a wonderful job. We did a 2 week follow-up (free). Currently we are 4 weeks out and Clif has healed great! There were ups and downs throughout the recovery and Metro Vet was supportive every step of the way. I would recommend them for anyone in our area. Also, they offer medical boarding during the recovery if needed. We did it for a few days and it was about $60/day. Wow, I would have definitely taken advantage of the medical boarding. I didn't ask Dogwood about that price, I assumed it was the normal $300/day for their surgery boarding! Those 2 weeks of crate only time were absolutely worth $60/day if someone else was doing it - lol!
