We just moved to another state and his old vet can’t prescribe pain meds to hold us over until the next appointment. They said too much time has passed since Winstons last visit. He has been prescribed meds in thaw past for his back. Since we’re not able to get him an Rx, what are some other options?

Welcome to Dodgerslist. Would you be willing to share more of your dog's IVDD story with us? IVDD is typically painful, and non-prescription medicines are unlikely to provide much relief. The most common human non-prescription pain relievers like ibuprofen or tylenol are not safe to give to your dog. If Winston is in pain, and you have not yet found a vet in your new location, a visit to an ER vet would be the quickest way to get him relief. We encourage you to register and become a member of the Forum. That way, it will be easier for you to reply and make it easier for us to follow your dog's progress and give the best of comments and support.
