Dogs with BLADDER Carry to and from the recovery suite to the potty place and then allow a very few limited footsteps. Using a sling (long winter scarf, ace bandage, belt) will save your back and help to keep a wobbly dog’s back aligned and butt from tipping over. A harness and 6 foot leash is to control speed and keep footsteps to a minimum as you stand in one spot. An ex-pen in the grass is an excellent alternative to minimizing footsteps, with the physical and visual to indicate there will be no sniff festing going on!
☆ 8 Currently can your dog wobbly walk? Move the legs at all? Or wag the tail when you specifically do some happy talk?Yes
Welcome Stacie! We are glad you are here. Is there something in particular you are seeking a comment on for Marshal?
I looks as though you may not be reporting a current disc episode for Marshall??
--- Any owner suspicion of a new disc episode, the disc would be protected asap with limited movement in a recovery suite provides (8-panel ex-pen, wire crate, baby's Pack N Play) and then seen by a vet asap. --- With a current diagnosis of a disc episode (accompanied by pain or any neuro diminishment) means the vet would likely Rx an anti-inflammatory, pain meds and an acid suppressor for the duration of the anti-inflammatory.
It would be helpful for our understanding about Marshal to use dates. -- What date did Marshall get a diagnosis for IVDD? Was the treatment a surgery or conservative treatment? -- Is Patrick related to Marshall— a sibling, parent of Marshall?
