dodgerslist.boards.net/thread/7353/register-bookmark-dogs-post-threadLarge breed dogs can have a disc episode. As with any other breed there can also be other diseases that mimic the signs of a disc episode. So having a specialist examine and give a diagnosis would mean the treatment can then match the diagnosed disease. If this were to be a disc episode, then waiting for the correct treatment, meds means mid July is simple inadequate. Find another vet or neuro to consult with who has an opening very soon in this directory:
find.vetspecialists.com Until you know you are not dealing with a current disc episode that may have happened on 4/8ish?? THEN STRICT rest is how the disc would heal and how STRICT rest would prevent trauma and damage to the spinal cord nerves.
STRICT means:

dodgerslist.com/2020/04/22/chiropractic/◼︎No walking to and from the potty place, only the very fewest of footsteps to take care of business.
◼︎No PT for conservative dogs during 8 weeks to heal disc
◼︎At home laser or acupuncture for severe neuro damage is best.
◼︎ Avoid dangerous detours. Follow the "Roadmap." Tape it to your fridge. D/L and print out:
dodgerslist.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Roadmap-for-Fridge.pdf We can carry our small breed dogs to and from the recovery suite out to an old pee spot in the grass. You will need to consider how you can eliminate a walk to the potty place.
---- If you can not safely lift and carry Jett out to a potty place, consider the next ideas
---- put some castors on his recovery suite and wheel it close to the sliding glass door when time for potty.
---- Can you put a 6 foot diameter or so area of outdoor grass out on your deck? Then Jett needs only to take the very, very fewest of footsteps to get on the "grass", sniff some old pee spots and poop or pee there.
