Hi my name is Robin Brueggeman i have been reading all the info on dodgerslist since my River went down on Dec 12th but i love the new forum so easy to post on and ask Well on 12/11/12 i woke at 4am to my sweet River a 9yr old long haired dachshund and one of the loves of my life dragging himself up to my pillow and of course i could of died at that moment but got my self together and my awesome vet met me at her office and was then sent to Akron ,Ohio for surgery. River had surgery about 4 hours after he went down and he is now back to his amazing self just a hunch back and little wobble but i will take it My friend that has 2 cart dogs and is amazing sent me the dvd and flyer right away about dodgerslist and i think you guys are amazing help !! My concern now is about going to the groomer i am so nervous to leave him anywhere but he does need grooming as he is longhair and his nails grow fast and i can't do them . The groomer he always goes to is great and i think she will be ok if i want to stay or maybe just get his nails and hair on his feet done . He is so very handsome and as soon as i figure out how to post a picture i will share his handsome face with you

I think if you explain to the groomer about the need for his back to stay horizontal to the ground to protect his back, show how how to lift and carry River by supporting both ends, it should be fine if you feel confident about the groomer. Of course, if it were my dog, I'd stay during the grooming just to be safe.
