Yep. We have a sling. We are forcing ourselves to use it predominantly moving forward instead of holding him by his hips. The pt vet also said to use the sling as it’s better for our backs and also better for him. The vet wraps have not worked at all. His little chubby short English bulldog legs make them just slid down past the wounds. He has a vet appointment tomorrow for some guidance.
So u are thinking the hour sessions would be more beneficial then? It’s quite expensive. The clinic is an hour and 15 from us and the package price is 1220$ for 10 one hour sessions. We’ve called other places but no one is accepting new clients. Also, I notice when we use the sling, he just lets his legs hang like limp spaghetti and he just wants to move forward quickly with his front legs. I think sometimes he is getting used to not using his back legs and doesn’t much care.. lol. But in all seriousness, I really do believe that. He does get up on his own to eat everytime now. And can stand for the entirety of the duration it takes him to finish. Then he will take several steps trying to clean up whatever he may have dropped on the floor. Also the rehab vet said she would not put him into hydrotherapy until his leg wounds are healing up and we are not close to that yet. She also had us purchase a rehab ball from Amazon that fits u see Brodys belly perfectly to do an exercise she taught us

Let us know what suggestions your vet gives to keep protection on the legs. Would have though self sticking Vetwrap would hold? ?
It seemed like the reason for Brody's soreness you described may have been 30min of exercise to start with at the PT place. I do not know the length of a typical underwater treadmill (UWT)l session would be. Maybe another person can comment. If he could build up to an hour, if not in your budget, then stick with shorter time. UWT just expedites the learning process. Many dogs where there are no clinics for UWT, still re-learn to walk with their owners help in exercises at home.
Since he will stand for food, how about at home several times a day have him do some sit to stands for treats to strengthen the thigh muscles? As always start slow and incrementally increase exercises to avoid getting really sore muscles.
