Alice’s Dachshund Murray
Hi. Murray had an initial flare up in 10/2019. We did 3 weeks of crate rest and he graduated from the neurologist. This episode was primarily pain. He was on Gabapentin, Carprofen and methocarbenol. Flash forward to
this week, Wed [7/22?], he ran down the hall and hopped into his bed at full speed. Let out a god-awful yelp but seemed to shake it off. We put him back in crate and restarted his meds till we could get him back in to the vet. Saturday we noticed that he was dragging his back paw a little in the yard at potty breaks. He gets a little loopy on gabapentin, so we dialed back his dose thinking that may be attributing to his problem. Sunday night 7/26, his back Legs quit working. We were able to get him in with the neurologist this morning [7/27] and they are currently doing an mri. Just hoping we are doing what’s best for him.
Murray is 5 yrs old and 15 lbs

The rupture is l2-l3.. They are taking him into surgery right now. They did mention that he does have a few other bulging discs, but this rupture is causing his problems right now.

Thank you for the update. Well wishes for an excellent surgery to decompress the spinal cord.
