original subject line: [Roached?] “Coached Back” in Doxie Puppy We have the possibility of becoming an owner of a Doxie pup (11 week old) who sustained a neck injury that she’s currently recovering from. She’s still under the care of her vet.
The breeder can’t sell her or use her for show, so it’s the breeders hope to find the pup a loving home.
I don’t have a ton of details on the pup as I’ll more info after she has her appt at the end of next week. Breeder said she is getting around good now but is still on limited movement but she does show some lameness in her one rear leg when she gets tired.
Since she’s a pup and still growing, is it possible that she can recover and lead a healthy life once she is fully grown? Has anyone experienced this? How was your outcome?
Thanks in advance

Tim, we have adult doxies on this forum who have had a disc episode. Those with back leg movement deficits were able to self heal nerves and bring back walking. I'd think a young pup would likely be able to self heal and maybe faster.
There are all reasons for a disc problem. Do you know the reason (the diagnosis) such as a fall and broken vertebrae, etc.?
