I have a 3 year old Doxie who had disc survey last August. After almost a year of PT he is not going to walk again. He does have wheels. My question...Oscars poor back paws and the insides of his legs are being rubbed raw and bleed. I bandage him but they always come off eventually. He's an active dog and still tries to act and move as ifhe is not paralyzed. Cant Stop him! Any ideas on how to help the wounds? Melissa

Melissa, welcome to Dodgerslist. What brand cart do you have? Is the rubbing due to the cart or scooting around the house, do his legs stay up on the back bar off the ground…. please give us a few more details. EMT gel by Trophy Animal Health Care is an excellent gel to help with healing. emtgel.com/

He has an Eddies cart. Most of his damage is from scooting around the house. His paws are open wounds and the inside of his legs are all cut up now...I was gone for 10 days so husband was in charge. :/. He does get rubbing from the cart and his right paw wants to walk so it is continually slipping loose and I place it back.

Sounds like Oscar NEEDs garment protection when scooting. Lot's of options to prevent rug/floor burn some sew… some no sew scroll down to #6 for more ideas www.dodgerslist.com/literature/AfterCrateRest.htm www.dodgerslist.com/literature/incontinentdown/Olliecape.pdf On Clark's Eddie's I wrapped the saddle with some shearling really helps with extra cushioning and friction. Found some sheepskin car seat belt protectors..just the right amount and if you shop at a good price. You might see if you can change the angle of stirrup bar for that one leg..loosen with allen wrench…that might help.
