We had the towel wrap on Owen's back for no real reason. I watched him
outside this morning. He sniffs around the grass but just drips come
out. No real stream this morning. Will keep watching.
We tried
bands, the pet pouch specially made to protect him. The problem with
scooting around the house is that because he "leaks" all the time he
gets wet legs that then get sores and the house smells really bad and
with the protection pouch the urine collected inside and really scorched
his belly. We thought the cart was the solution. Now I see we need more
education and some better ways with Owen.
We thank you for all the assistance you are giving.

Hi Paula,
The vet did the last
surgery about a year ago now and then when Owen was really healed up and didn't need the catheter anymore he gave us some kind of pill to see if he could regain total bladder control. It did not work.
However, that being said,
after dinner he goes to the back door and will pee and poop just like normal. I have not watched him in the yard sniff out a spot and pee there again. I will monitor that for a week or so and let you know. Right now, he is healing up from where his inner thigh rubs against the eddie's wheels saddle. It is an open sore and that needs to close up before I can let him loose in the cart again.
I thank you and want to say I ordered the DVD yesterday and will watch that.
I think that Owen has partial bladder control from our observations and continual leaking throughout the day so we keep him in the towel arrangement.
With Aloha,
Pam
A cart should not be for all day but maybe a couple of hours at a time…. pressure sores, etc if left in the cart too long.
I wrapped the eddies saddle with sheepskin shearling to prevent rubbing
on our walks. Works great and gives a bit more padding. I used the
seat belt strap coverings sold in the auto department..for cheap source
of shearing.
Why is the towel on his back? Are you using a belly
band. You may want to check into this idea to protect your floors and
to protect Owen when scooting in the house.
