Can anyone recommend where to get a drag bag/drag garment for a dachshund?

Oscar is paralyzed. ..he had another episode on 4/15. The doc says he probably won't walk again and if he does it could take a long time. Frankie wheelchair fund is helping me with a purchase of a cart for him. He will be finished his crate rest 6/10

Danielle, sorry to hear of another disc episode. Can you tell us a bit more about this one? -- Do you see any currently pain - shivering, trembling, yelping when picked up or moved, reluctant/slow to move head or body, tight hard tummy? -- How much does Oscar weigh? Would you give us a list of exact med names currently given, their doses in mg's and frequencies? Let us know about the stomach protector.... Pepcid AC, too. -- Eating and drinking OK? How are poops today- normal color and firmness, no dark or bright red blood? -- Tell us more about his current neuro status: Can he move the legs at all? or wag the tail when you do some happy talk? Keep in mind the very, very lightest least aggressive range of motion and leg massage will be necessary for paralyzed legs during conservative treatment once off all pain meds and no more signs of pain and they are highlighted in PINK here:www.dodgerslist.com/literature/massagepassiveexercises.htm-- Do you find wet bedding or leaks on you when lifted up? If yes, how often do you express his bladder.? -- If there is pain or neuro diminishment, dogs can benefit greatly with acupuncture or laser light therapy. These therapies can be be started right away to help relieve pain and to also to kick start energy production in nerve cells to sprout. So if this therapy is in your budget, seek out a holistic vet. ahvma.org/Widgets/FindVet.html www.serenityvetacupuncture.com/index.php/faq_/ [one vet's overview/prices] Chiropractic is not recommended for IVDD dogs.

Hi Danielle, sorry to hear about Oscar. Emmie and I send our best thoughts to you both! A lot can change in the next few weeks with Oscar's mobility - they sometimes don't listen to vets - so make sure you complete his full crate rest before trying out your new additions like scoot sacks and wheels. I was very surprised with how much Emmie healed within the rest period to the point that wheels would be an "aid" to help her walk farther or faster but not a "need" to get out to potty. What kind of wheelchair are you getting for Oscar? I'm curious because I've been reading about all different kinds!
