Just a note, too, about the Vetri Disc. If your vet says it's OK to give it and there are no contraindications with other meds/health issues, that's fine. From what I've read about it, the main ingredient, bovine tracheal cartilage, is rich in chondroitin. In order for nutrients to reach the discs in the spine, they have to be able to penetrate the blood brain barrier. Please take a look at our supplement page to further educate yourself about the use of chondroitin and supplements in the treatment and maintenance of IVDD. www.dodgerslist.com/literature/Supplements.htmI just don't want you to get your hopes up about using this product. But if your vet says it's OK to give it, then give it a try.

I'm so sorry you are having to go through all of this. I live in the Phoenix area too, and I've had excellent results with the Vet and Surgical specialists at "Arizona Veterinary Specialists" in Gilbert, AZ. www.azvs.comThey have locations in Scottsdale and Glendale too. This is where my Oliver had his surgery--but they were promoting crate rest and I was the one who chose surgery. Since then I've had to do two more rounds of crate rest. Good luck to you and Peke!!!

Fingers crossed for Peke's vet visit! Remember to be prepared for the end of crate rest and to gently get Peke back into physical activity. Those muscles are really weak from being in a crate. The below link is a great place to learn. www.dodgerslist.com/literature/AfterCrateRest.htm

Congratulaions, Daniel! You and Peke certainly had some journey together through all this. Now your focus needs to be on slowly introducing Peke back into physical activity. There is a sample plan on our "All Things IVDD" page under the After Crate rest then What column at this link: www.dodgerslist.com/literature.htmDon't forget to add a photo to the gallery and one for the 2015 calendar that will be coming out this Fall.
