Hello,
I am new to the site. Not sure if I am posting correctly.
I have a peke that has IVDD. He had surgery two years ago and is doing great.
I walk him everyday and I have issues with his pulling. I am using a regular harness but
I do see others that will correct the pulling by turning his head. I don't want to use a harness
that may cause problems. Is there any recommendation on other harness that can be use.
Thanks for you help

I'm not sure I would use that harness you refer to with an IVDD dog. Better yet make sure you do not use one of those retractible leashes, but a 6 foot one. Any harness should be fitted so that if there is any pulling stress it is on the bone structure of the chest and shoulders rather than the soft neck tissue. Get revved up for re-training yourself and your dog how to walk on a leash: Then do a little search for leash walking videos to help you change the way you deal with the pulling issue… there are lots on the internet just Google you will find good free lessons like this one: www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/training-a-puppy-to-walk-on-a-leash.html

Good! Harnesses should always be used with IVDD dogs instead of collars. Collars place too much stress on the neck. Collars' only use with IVDD dogs is to hang a license on!

the reason i want the other 2 on harnesses is i don't want them having the same as dai when they're older, so more a preventative for them.
