I am nearing the end of crate rest for my dog. Previously, she used to sleep with us so now I want to buy here a nice plush bed we can keep in our bedroom.
Does anyone have any recommendations? Can an IVDD dog have a 4 inch mattress? I worry because I know they aren't supposed to do steps of any kind but wouldn't a bed this high be like a step? THanks!

You might want to look at this kind of bed…no step up at all. My Clark is paralyzed and he can scoot up into the bed easily, for ambulatory dogs they can just walk into the bed with no need to do a little jump up into the bed. kuddlekots.com/ortho-bed/ is the manufacturer. This site has all the details of construction: petabbey.com/kuddle-kot-chirobed-holistic-pet-bed.html and where I bought mine from.
