Hazel,
Paula is trying to help.. and she is very experienced in IVDD in living with it daily with her dog and previous dogs.. Dodgerslist has been in existence for 11 years, we know what works and what doesn't. We have helped thousands of dogs recover and go on to their happy new lives living with the condition they are born with. We live with IVDD every single day.. The Neurologists that advise us are experts in this condition..
I have three pets and I also rescue.. You can choose to leave but I know you have it in you to beat the despair and fight for Chubbs future.. Giving up is not a treatment for IVDD.
Best wishes..

Hazel, you sound overwhelmed. I can totally relate. When Henry had his episode, I cried for 3 days. You seem very tender-hearted and caring to animals. Your local humane society is lucky to have you. I can't imagine how scary this is for you not having a choice in a vet. I hope Chubb's current doctor is well experienced with these events.
I do not believe anyone is trying to be rude to you. I think the moderators on this board have seen too many dogs put down before their time when a little TLC could have save their life.
I realize you are busy and you have 5 dogs and may not feel like you have time to give Chubbs the extra TLC. It's my understanding that as time goes on, Chubbs will greatly improve and will not need as much care as in these first weeks. Eventually, he will eat regularly and his poops will return to normal. It may not be on our timetable though.
Hang in there Hazel! You are a strong woman!
