--What is your dog's name? Norman
--What breed is your dog and did you specifically get a diagnosis of IVDD? Black and tan dachshund. He was diagnosed in July of 2012 at Iowa State University.
-- What was the date you saw the vet and started 100% STRICT crate rest 24/7? July 2012.
-- Is there still currently pain - shivering, trembling, yelping when picked up or moved, reluctant/slow to move head or body, tight hard tummy? Norm is post op x 8 days for his 2nd IVDD surgery. Still in rehab. Prior, he was shivering, rigid belly and very reluctant to move.
-- What are the exact names of meds currently given, their doses in mgs and frequencies? He will come home on Tramadol and Rimadyl (will update when I get actual meds and know the dose).
-- Currently can your dog wobbly walk? move the legs at all? or wag the tail when you do some happy talk? Norm is unable to walk, but has deep pain sensation, his motor function is improving each day. Wonderful wagging of the tail today when I went to visit him.
-- Do you find wet bedding or leaks on you when lifted up? Norm's a dribbler. Even after surgery number 1 - he had dribbles.
-- Eating and drinking OK? Yes.
-- Poops OK - normal color no dark or bright red blood? Poop is fine. He never regained bowel function after the first surgery. Watch your step at our house!
