The underwater treadmill strengthens muscles without pressure on the joints. We will also show you exercises to practice at home. The cost of the initial eval is $150. Each session after that depends on what you want done. Just the treatment depends on how long your dog is treated for, sessions start at $80 for a half hour. The cost a session after the initial evaluation with treatment, tank, and exercises is $135. 30 minutes $80.00 Just the underwater treadmill is $65, with tank packages available. 25 minutes $65.00 Tank Package 9 x $65 plus 1 free $585.00 -------------------- I decided to go with Petra's Dog Resource Center in Flanders. Yesterday, September 9 - exactly 4 weeks post IVDD surgery, we had our initial one hour evaluation $150.00. The first thing she noticed was his arched back and asked if it was always arched and I informed her it was post-surgery. She explained he was compensating for lack of hind leg use. She messaged him a bit and showed me three at home exercises and how to use treats to have him straightened out his back while standing and sitting. Petra also used cold laser therapy on the area of the incision. She also put Max on a FitPAWS Dog Balancing Discs with tactile bumps on the surface to stimulate nerve endings /feeling in his hind paws. Max moved his hind legs around on the mat which was a good sign. She let me borrow one for home use. Lastly, Max got to go in the water treadmill. He had two short sessions and was able to walk buoyed by the water. It was great to see. After he was tuckered out. She also suggested I put him back on Gabapentin and informed me he would be very tired and perhaps sore the next day. Moving forward, I will schedule 30 minute sessions at $80.00. Sessions will vary based on how Max improves. It may be a mix of the water treadmill, massage and/or cold laser. |
