We are not doing well. At the ER now. Thought initially to be a UTi and her just being anxious and turned into critical and se is staying. Not really sure whats happening. I'm waiting in a room. They couldn't get a blood pressure it was too low. They have no idea what is wrong and she deteriorated very rapidly. I don't even know if she is still with us. They have been working on her for 45 minutes. I'm trying to hold myself together.

She did not make it. I had to make the decision to end her suffering. It wasn't related to her back at all. She ended up having a foreign object in her stomach that we could not figure out what it was. She was too weak for surgery to remove and even if she stabilized there was less than a 50% chance she would live after fighting the infection. She was suffering, very cold. They could not even register a blood pressure. I had to make the decision. My heart is absolutely broken. Thank you for the support.

I'm so very sorry, Martina. What a terrible turn of events. You tried so hard to help Daiquiri with her IVDD only to have this happen so soon after her surgery. My heart is breaking for you. You did what was best for your girl by setting her free. Blessings to you as you deal with your grief in the days ahead.

So sad to hear this Martina.. You did the only thing you could do, give her a release from suffering. Her memory will stay safe and warm in your heart where love never dies..
The Rainbow Bridge inspired by a Norse legend "By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still. Where the friends of man and woman do run, ...When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest. On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.
No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness. Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care, Until one day they start, and sniff at the air. All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met; Together again, both person and pet. So they run to each other, these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart, Has turned into joy once more in each heart. They embrace with a love that will last forever, And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together."

Martina, I'm so sad with this totally unexpected news. It is never easy to make such hard decisions to give the gift of release… you did the right thing. Daiquiri knew she was cared for in all you did for her and it was with great love.
No one loved is ever lost...find Daiquiri in a safe and warm place... your heart.
Godspeed, sweet Daiquiri, to the Rainbow Bridge. Warmest of ((hugs)) to you Martina, may your grief soon turn to memories of the wonderful time you both shared.
