Hi
My Beagle was diagnosed with IVDD back in January. He is doing really well except he does not squat when he has to poop, it just kind of falls out of his butt. Most of the time he does it outdoors but lately I have been seeing little poop balls on the living room floor, in my bed and on the deck. Is this going to get better or should I get him some more laser therapy to help with nerve healing? This has been happening more lately than before. Does any one else's dog have this problem? He is only 3 yrs old so it is not due to age. His tail has been curled since the injury, he can wag but only on rare occasions like when I come home. Thanks
Sandi

Hi Sandi! Welcome to Dodgerslist Sandi! Did Shiloh recover with 8 weeks of conservative crate rest or Surgery in January? Can he wobbly walk, walk or is he on wheels? I think Laser therapy or Acupuncture could really help and it certainly wouldn't hurt to try and see if it would help his pooping problem. Laser light therapy, acupuncture and electroacupuncture which sends a microcurrent of electricity to and from acupuncture points (which are really big nerve bundles), can be very beneficial at helping to re-establish the nerve connections in the body. Any one of these therapies can be started right away if in your budget... they not only help relieve pain and inflammation but will kick start nerves to begin regeneration. Healing wishes!
