vet recommendations:
We had a very bad experience at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital by Dr. Troxel. He seemed very knowledgeable he was just very to the point and insensitive. He wasn't willing to move medications around and basically told me that if i didn't do an MRI/Surgery then I would have to watch my pain.
Due to my experience the second Neurologist (Dr. Stephanie Kube) had different recommendations for me. She had me do a Lyme Test & an x-ray for winslow to rule out any possibility that this was a tumor/lyme disease. She said it was silly to do an MRI if this was something "small" such as a mass or lyme. All his tests came back negative and Winslow was still in terrible pain so we decided on an MRI, once the results were back, she changed his medications (all of the med changes are in Winslow's thread in graduates.) Once his meds were changed he was a different dog in less than 48 hours. We had a tentative surgery date that Dr. Kube cancelled due to winslows progress. We kept the meds the same for a long long time, he did 8 weeks of crate rest, STRICT and then began small activity, then began to taper off (also all in Winslow's thread).

Comments:
Dr. Kube was very honest with me from the beginning, she was kind and understanding. She told me she would not operate on my dog due him doing so well, I have never heard of a Vet saying no to a 6,000$ surgery. She is not a vet interested in people's money, she truly cares about the animal and what is best. She told me something that will stick with me forever, "he might need a surgery in the future due to unexpected paralysis. Save your money for that." I would recommend her to any/everyone.
