State: NJ Hospital: Red Bank Veterinary Hospital Address: 197 Hance Ave, Tinton Falls, NJ Cost: $9100 Date of surgery: December 5, 2017 Included in cost: emergency intake, MRI, surgery, 5 nights stay, all meds (prednisone, tramadol, cephalexin, Pepcid), 2 follows up visits (10 day post-op, 6 weeks post-op) Surgeon: Dr. Eric Glass Comments: what can I say - it's a miracle! Even though my dog had deep pain sensation, Dr. Glass only gave him about 50% chance of walking again because of the trauma to his spine (herniated disc due to fall from bed) and he just graduated from crate rest this week (as of 1/16/18) and he is walking great! If it wasn't Dr. Glass himself, another neurosurgeon from his department called me every single day to update Bambam's condition and a vet tech called as well at night to let me know how he was doing. Red Bank is extremely expensive, but it's definitely money well spent. I recommend Dr. Glass to anyone in the area!

Sad to say, we did not have the same experience at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Our dog Bosco had an IVDD incident on May 11th, 2018 and had surgery performed by Dr. Song on May 12th. The cost of his care came to $8500 for a 3 night stay. While we did get daily calls from Dr. Song to update us on Bosco's condition, we never got calls from a vet tech at night as well. Instead, we were told we had to make the calls ourselves to find out how he was doing every night. Furthermore, our dog ended up with a bad case of urine burn that required him to be on antibiotics longer than intended. It took about 4-5 weeks for it to heal.
