This has nothing to do with IVDD:
One of my doxies got anxious & chewed the corners of my textured/plastered walls at the baseboard & scratched further up. One or both of them scratched or chewed down to the metal corner protectors & now I need to find something to cover up these holes/gouged out areas on the corners. They are confined during the day in my large kitchen with a nice metal sturdy doggie door & may have been trying to get out.
They are not doing it any longer but I need to cover this mess up so they can't get to it any longer & make it also look more presentable.
PLEASE ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HELPING ME RESOLVE THIS ISSUE...

Uggh - I feel your pain. My dog "ate" one of our doors. We ended up having to replace it.
Perhaps get a handyman to put some wall filler on the affected areas and paint over it? Or you could have the drywall patched.
Best of luck, ~Lisa

I'm a trainer with a Doxie with IVDD, I haven't gotten to much support here but I'm glad to answer questions like this. How often do you WALK your dog or do obedience games? Chewing is a sign of bordom? It may also be Pika. The dog doesn't realize it's chewing it just does it. I have a cat with pika. If you catch the dog chewing redirect the behavior to something he can chew. After a few mins of chewing what's allowed give affection or praise only if the dog isn't a resource guarder. If that is an issue I'd contact a local trainer/ behaviorist to correct that behavior in your home.
