Physical Therapy
Dr. Devon Spencer, DVM Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center Physical Thera-Pet Canine & Feline Rehabilitation 730 Randolph Road Middletown, CT 860-347-1122
Individual therapy sessions are $75; a package of 8 is $540, and a package of 12 costs $765. Initial evaluations are $115, and subsequent benchmark evaluations are $85; recheck evaluations are $40. After Millie's surgery and six weeks of crate rest, she began physical therapy. She had an initial evaluation with Dr. Devon Spencer of Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center's Physical Thera-Pet Canine & Feline Rehabilitation and Fitness, and began a program of twice-weekly therapy which included cold laser, core/balancing exercises on FitBone and rocker board, treadmill using her wheels, and hydro treadmill. (She used the pool for five sessions, but it wasn't a happy experience for her and was discontinued!) After four weeks, she was reevaluated and recommended for another four weeks; she was reevaluated once more and entered a final four-week program - after which she graduated and continued with a home program. Therapists are friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. Dr. Spencer provides detailed written, illustrated instructions with her consultations and recommendations. She answered all my questions, and took as much time as needed to make a full examination and recommendations. Acupuncture
Dr. Julia Chant Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center 730 Randolph Road Middletown, CT 860-347-1122
Package of four sessions: $207; individual sessions: $52
Millie has completed six of eight scheduled sessions. Dr. Chant made sure that Millie was in the best possible environment for her sessions. Millie had difficulty in Dr. Chant's office because of auditory distractions, so we moved outdoors to a quieter location where she was more relaxed. She is sensitive and flexible in her interactions with patients and owners.
