Sally, you are doing a good job in sticking to the crate rest.... it really is the best way to ensure the disc has healed.
I hope you will have a moment or two to help those just starting the IVDD journey...to inspire them to be committed to the necessary rest. YOu have a lot to share with both Vinnie and Hitch.

Paula, it is really hard this last week. Hitch is feeling great, and wants to bolt when I take him out and he sees all the spring critters! Thank goodness for the harness and leash. I will try to get on more often to give support. Since I have Vinnie who had the surgery and has not regained use of his back legs, but is active and happy and now Hitch, whose first issue was mild and handled conservatively, I feel I can offer encouragement and empathy. IVDD is frightening and overwhelming, but once you get a handle on the pain and healing, it can have a happy ending!

To see some videos of Vinnie, check out heavenleigh79. That is my daughter and there are videos of Vinnie in water therapy (at home), and in his first wheelchair from dogs to go. ( he now has Eddies wheels) Also a cute Christmas video!
