I realise this is going to be a long rehab for Franklin, but we're ready to conquer this together. He is amazing <3

Dominique,
Thinking of you and Franklin and will be watching for updates.. It's hard enough having hip surgery but add your best friend down with IVDD, very hard to take, I am sure, especially being apart. Hope the other Vet clinic is closer for you.. In the meantime I hope friends and family are there for you..
Take good care of yourself.. Pauliana

Hi lovely ladies I was also so worried seeing him like that on Sunday night, but last night he had nice bright eyes, and he was a wriggly little thing wanting to run on the grass. Had to keep him still using cooked chicken Moving him to the acupuncture/rehab clinic today and he'll have his first lot of treatment when he arrives. Its only 30 minutes away, so nice and close compared to where he is now. I should be able to start driving from next week again, which will make everything so much easier!!!!! I cannot thank you all enough for being there for me and Franklin, listening, waiting with me for news, and just offering support and comfort. I'm pretty sure you are all angels. Will update later when we've dropped little fatty fats at the clinic. <3

Hi Linda, Paula, Polly's mom, Pauliana and everyone else
A quick update on my lil man. He was moved to the CAMC yesterday, and Barry assessed him VERY thoroughly. I was almost crying when he managed to stand on his 4 legs without falling over for a few minutes <3. He had his first session of acupuncture there, and is staying until he has proper control of his bladder. He is seeming to push a bit when squeezed, but they want him a bit more healed before he comes home. It'll be one week today since his operation.
He is being treated for a UTI, and the little grazes on his inner thighs are a bit mucky today, so the antibiotics will sort that out. I cannot wait to have him home with me.
He'll start aqua therapy in about a week or two. I am so proud of how strong he is being. He has some pain sensation coming back too!!!!
So much love to all you who have been there for me through this, sitting online with me while I wait for news. You are angels. <3

Linda you are an angel!!!!!!! His acupuncture vet is SO LOVELY, he said he sat next to Franklin and they had a little chat, and he told fatty he can come home as soon as he can pee on his own They are doing physio with him a few times a day, and his back right leg is SUPER strong. The left leg still has a way to go. I am so blessed.

Dominique, I know you will get a much better night's sleep, knowing Franklin is now in good hands til he can return home to you. The acupuncture should be helpful with nerve stimulation. Do continue to update us.

Who is in need of some good news today??
Just got a text message from Barry (vet) - Franklin is holding a stand for longer, he WAGGED HIS TAIL, better bladder control and will be home tomorrow or Saturday HAPPY DAYS. I think my tail just wagged too.
He is getting acupuncture and laser light therapy daily, and starts hydrotherapy in a few weeks. YAY!!!
Love to all of you.

Dominique, wagging his tail and resuming bladder control is wonderful news on the direction his nerve healing is going in. I think when you get him home you will only need to do a quick express check after he pees on his own just to verify he is getting all the urine on a consistent basis for a short time. Unless the Dr. Barry says he is already fully voiding on his own. Give Franklin a big kiss from us all when you get him home. And of course you know we want to know all the details of any meds, what Dr. Barry says about home ROM and leg massage.
