My name is Donna. She is on crate rest. She takes her last predisone on Monday. No pain meds. She doesn't seem to need them anymore. She doesn't wimper when I pick her up. I'm so glad I found your website.I wish I had found it sooner. I read everything I can IVDD.

Is she walking now? Are you doing any PT. It is good that you are reading as it is a disease Katy will have for life.

I seem to be having computer problems, But she is walking and using the bathroom on her own. I massage her legs but dont want to do too much until her staples come out on friday.I do want to do more therapy with her. I just watched the leg massage video. very helpful

Katy, it sounds like Katy is doing fantastic this soon after surgery - she's walking and has bladder control already! We look forward to hearing how her recovery goes. As Linda said, what we usually see for post-op care is 6 weeks of crate rest. The dog is allowed out for potty breaks and whatever PT your surgeon prescribed. While she is on crate rest, think about safeguarding your home for the IVDD dog: www.dodgerslist.com/literature/protectback.htm We have an excellent IVDD dvd available for only $3 including shipping. It's great to have on hand to show to family/friends/petsitters so they will know what they can and cannot do with your dog and how they can help: www.dodgerslist.com/store/DVDorder.htm We look forward to your next update. Best wishes, ~Lisa
