It was exactly one year ago today when we woke up to find Bowser unable to use his back legs and rushed him to the vet fearing the outcome. Before then I had never heard of IVDD but that day we learned of Browsers bad back and started him on meds and crate rest. I wanted to know more about his condition, I was scared and although our vet was very good and explained what was going on with him I still felt like I didn't know enough. Not knowing how everything was going to turn out or whether he would walk again was such a scary and isolating feeling. I got online and started researching about his condition within a few minutes of being home from the vet this is when I found dodgerslist and everything I would need to know about IVDD as well as so many beautiful stories of hope.. Bowser slowly got his strength and legs back after he completed his 8 weeks crate rest and is doing wonderful today. Now we know what to look for and how to try to help keep his back safe and exactly what to do if it happens again. I am so grateful to the dodgerslist community for their continued support and wealth of knowledge

Hello! We are so happy to hear that Bowser is doing well. We are also happy to have helped you in your time of need. With one in four dachshunds having IVDD, be sure to share the information you learned with other dachshund owners. We have free literature that you can hand out: www.dodgerslist.com/literature/litorder.htm Please keep in touch and best of luck with Bowser! ~Lisa and the Dodger's List team
