Yay I made it! Bailey graduated last Friday and is doing ok. She is using her ramp and walking around the yard. We are being extra careful. I am so grateful for your support.

Elisa,
Welcome to the new forum! I am glad Bailey is doing so well! My Tyler graduated crate rest a week ago Monday and is also getting back into a careful new groove. So I am experiencing much of what you are going through now.. We still carry Tyler outside since we don't have a ramp yet but otherwise he is enjoying going for short walks now.
Being extra careful is a good thing.. It's really hard to let down our guard after having gone through a IVDD episode.
I know Tyler gets frustrated at hearing "No jump!" and "No run! everytime he tries to have fun..
Keep us posted on how Bailey is doing..

I still carry her outside and hover over her but she is using the ramp to come in. I got her a stroller from preheat with inflatable tires. My bed mattress is now on the floor and stairs all have baby gates so she can't use them. In the car she will be placed on a soft crate with a big comforter to absorb the ride. I feel like we got a second chance at life!

We are putting baby gates on the stairs upstairs and downstairs also. Caught the rascal thinking about going downstairs. Got to him in time.. Have to watch him like a hawk since he is feeling so much better. He hears a noise and off he goes, so he goes in his recovery suite if I can't be right next to him.. The past couple of days he went into the recovery suite by himself to lounge around..
Sounds like Bailey will be traveling in style in the car and in his stroller, Good for you!!
Aren't second chances wonderful??
