Not sure what criteria makes him a graduate. Can you tell me? He's six weeks out from surgery as of today He's about the same as my last report. He's showing movement in his right leg and his rehab doc says he can feel his feet. Still not peeing on his own, but clearly knows his bladder is full or when he needs to poop. I tried to load a pic of his first attempt at the treadmill, but it didnt work, maybe because I was using my iPad. I'll try again! His energy level is great and he's enjoying longer "walks" using his sling. I'm keeping his muscle tone as good as possible in his back end by having him stand while he eats his meals. I put a piece of a pool noodle wrapped in a towel his midsection while he's eating and "spot" him so he doesn't fall. This has helped him regain strength and balance so he'll be strong enough to stand and take steps when his nerves are ready to cooperate. He he continues to get acupuncture and cool laser treatment about once a week. This week we added the treadmill, but he didn't do much with his back legs this first time. Well try again next time! Hank got his new Eddies Wheels cart yesterday and is starting to realize he can now get places without me carrying him! His rehab vet and his surgeon are both seeing movement in his left leg and we're starting to see more on the right. The cart serves as a "walker" when he's in the house and has his feet down. His feet are up in stirrups when I take him out. He's still not peeing on his own, but I saw a hint of tail wag today, so maybe that will return in time!

It is good to hear that his cart is working out so well for him and that he has more movement in his legs. Keep looking out for that tail wag. That will be a great day. Also try the sniff and pee test periodically to see if bladder control is starting to return.
