Elaine, welcome to the Forum! Hi, my name is Paula, what's your dog's name?
In general nerves are the slowest part of the body to heal. Often we owners need to think more in terms of months rather than days/weeks for nerve function to self heal. So it is still early in the nerve healing department.
Fill us in a bit more, so we have a good picture of where your dog is. That allows us to give our most helpful comments.
Did specifically your surgeon say that your dog has deep pain sensation? And what do you observe at home regarding your dog's ability to move the back legs? -- do you see the legs move any in helping to reposition the body position in the crate? -- do you see the legs attempt to scratch an ear? -- do you see the legs attempt to move up in to a stand? == does your dog have bladder control proved by being able to sniff an old pee spot and then the brain makes a decision to release urine? Or does your dog leak on you when lifted?
Tell us which kind of physio (physical therapy) water therapy your dog is doing. Is it swimming or the underwater treadmill or another physio?
What country are you in? And is your dog on any medications, pain free?
