My 4 yr. old Boykin slipped jumping into tailgate of our Tahoe. I NEVER allow that, but my husband picked her at the groomers and unintentionally asked her to jump. She fell on her tail, rolled over, jumped in. The next a m, rear legs were paralyzed. We were referred to vsc where Dr. Draper did disc surgery on L12/13. Said she did great. Strict crate for 2 weeks. Staples removed, in on strict rest, short walks with potty. Dr. Said she was way ahead of curve. Walking a bit wobbly, but is able to potty without help. But, I am so frightened about her future. A Boykin lives to run and hunt, explore. We have blocked or turned over every piece of furniture in the house. No stairs. I am praying my dearest will not have to endure this again, but I want her to be able to just be a dog. I need encouragement!!
