Just a note, too, about the Vetri Disc. If your vet says it's OK to give it to Bogart and there are no contraindications with meds or health issues, that's fine. You should take a look at our supplement page to help educate yourself about supplements and which are beneficial with IVDD. Vetri Disc is rich in chondroitin. There is information about the controversy surrounding chondroitin and its benefits with IVDD on our supplement page, plus recommendations: www.dodgerslist.com/literature/Supplements.htm

Thank You, I was going to hold off on the Vetri Disc until I can talk to the neurologist about it on Monday, I figure he'd know more about it than my vet. He was taking glucosamine/condroitin but I stopped once this episode started. I didn't want to chance any interactions with the medication that he is on currently.
Does your dog take any supplements?

I give Jeremy MSM and a sardine every day, along with apple cider vinegar for his allergies. I think the main thing we can do for our dogs is keep them healthy by giving them a good diet and, of course while not on conservative care, a steady course of daily exercise to keep their backs strong. Jeremy has been a challenge in giving a good diet because of his many allergies.
