Vet Recommendation: N. Grafton, MA
State: Massachusetts
Hospital: Tufts - Foster Hospital for Small Animals
Address: 55 Willard Street, N. Grafton, MA 01536
Cost: $8,500 Date of surgery: Hospitalization started 12/12/16. Surgery 12/14/16. Discharge 12/19/16
What was included in cost (MRI?, days stay, ER? PT? meds for home, sling, etc.) Cost included ER, MRI, EKG, Chest X-Ray, Spinal Tap, Abdominal Ultrasound, routine bloodwork, complete thyroid panel. Also included were meds upon discharge, sling and harness, followup/recheck appointments.
Comments: Reese did not present with the typical IVDD "symptoms." While it was confirmed he had paralysis, they were uncertain if it was a result of his body shutting down because of his severely low temperature caused by something else. All along he presented w DPS in his toes as well as an excited tail wag, so additional tests were run to confirm we were not dealing with something other/in addition to IVDD. All of his additional testing came back clear/normal limits.
