Country: England Hospital: Dick White Referrals (**must be referred by your regular vet) Address: Six Mile Bottom, Cambridgeshire CB8 0UH www.dickwhitereferrals.comCost: $8,195.38 (5,000 British pounds) - this was for 2 surgeries Date of surgery: 1st surgery 15 Nov 2013, 2nd surgery 20 Nov 2013 What was included in cost (MRI?, days stay, ER? PT? meds for home, sling, etc.) The cost includes an initial consultation, daily neurological exam by her surgeon (13 days), hospitalization (14 days), inpatient physiotherapy (10 days), labs, medications (both inpatient and for home), 2 MRIs, Anaethesia for 2 surgeries, and 2 surgeries. Comments: The actual cost, because of the need for the second follow-up surgery, was actually $10,411.64 (6,353.18 British pounds) but at the inital consult they provided an estimated costs and applied a discount to keep the total cost within the range provided initially. I am so pleased with the whole experience, the staff was outstanding with both my furry baby and myself. I received at least 2 phone calls a day providing me with updates on how she was doing - most of those from her surgeon (all but 5 calls in 14 days). He would call around 8 am and then again before he left for the day - usually after 8 pm. On the days she had MRIs & surgery I received a call after each step of the process (one first thing in the morning, after the MRI, after the surgery and again in the evening). Everyone I encountered from reception to the nurses, surgeon and physical therapists were all professional and caring and worked hard to help my little girl but also to ensure that I understood she was receiving the best care and to help alleviate any fears or concerns I had. I would use them again in a minute. The local vet I used that provided the referral is Eastgate Veterinary Group in Mildenhall (IP28 7ER), mildenhall@eastgatevets.co.uk - they are a great facility & staff as well.
