I'm looking for a vet specialist in the Los Angeles area. Our regular vet diagnosed my baby with calcified disks yesterday. I'd like to consult a specialist and get a second opinion. Thank you for your help.

The Directory of board certified ortho's (ASVC) and neuro's (ACVIM) can help you locate for your area. This article will direct you to PLUS a lot of very good information on treatments for a disc episode. What neuro functions you need to monitor for. Here is the article: www.dodgerslist.com/literature/healingsurgery.htm--What is your dog's name? --What breed is your dog and did you specifically get a diagnosis of IVDD? -- Is there currently pain - shivering, trembling, yelping when picked up or moved, reluctant/slow to move head or body, tight hard tummy? -- What are the exact names of meds currently given, their doses in mgs and frequencies? -- Currently can your dog wobbly walk? move the legs at all? or wag the tail when you do some happy talk? -- Do you find wet bedding or leaks on you when lifted up? -- Eating and drinking OK? -- Poops OK - normal color no dark or bright red blood?
